Development Methodology

  • Review of the technology environment and common architecture to determine the extent of support for business and technical requirements.

  • Project requirements will be gathered from project participants, key managers, and critical stakeholders to understand issues and opportunities related to the business and technology plans.

  • Review of current technical infrastructure to identify any issues or limitations.

  • Develop prototype so the project team can review a tangible solution to assist with iterative requirements definition and development approach.

  • Determine the exact system requirements so that the “right” functionality is designed. Using the iterative cycle and prototype will reduce our development time, and insure that the end solution meets the objectives of the project.

  • Develop the logical model of the proposed system including its process logic definition, information flows, logical database design and supporting architecture and infrastructure.

  • Based on the documents and information obtained, the project team will create the detailed functional and technical design to support the implementation.

  • Coding, testing, and documenting of programs

  • Peer reviews will be conducted on all deliverables to ensure quality and adherence to standards.

  • Developer responsible for each deliverable will conduct unit testing on their component. Once the module has been fully unit tested, it is ready for integration testing.

  • Consists of full project team working in concert to ensure the entire product works smoothly, accurately and conforms to the technical specifications.

  • A formal test plan and test scripts will be followed and will focus on the technical aspects of the system.

  • Defect-tracking tool will be used for defect tracking and performance monitoring.

  • When system testing is completed to the customer’s satisfaction, signoff will be required before moving to User Acceptance.

  • Driven by a formal deployment plan established in advance that will be approved and signed by the project sponsor.

  • Once the deployment is complete, the customer and Wilson Technology will signoff on the delivery of an operational system.
